Thursday, November 1, 2018. Bottle of water in hand and bib fixed on the chest, Yannick Lizzi, head of department within the engineering group Akka Technologies, is in the starting blocks. He is about to start the New York marathon. He crossed the finish line 2 hours and 42 minutes after the start of the race, taking the 214th place. A sporting and human experience out of the ordinary – the marathon involving more than 50,000 participants every year – for this regular 41-year-old runner, organized and supported by his company.

"I did five personal marathons. When management announced at the beginning of the year that the event would be funded for eight employees, I immediately filled out a file specifying my sports references and what motivated me, "says the head of department, who spent five days in New York.

Upon his return, the employee felt a real emulation within the teams. "My colleagues organized a reception at the airport and then a party to congratulate me. The marathon has become for several months the big topic of discussion around the coffee machine, "says Yannick Lizzi.
