Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, explained why he wore a black panther mask after scoring against Rennes on Thursday.
The Gabonese international scored two goals as the Gunners beat Ligue 1 3-0 in the UEFA Europa League. After losing the first leg 3-1, the result was enough for Arsenal to win the match on a 4-3 total and qualify for the last 16 of the competition.
Having scored the goal of putting his team to 3-0 in the second half, the striker snuck past a bag behind the goal and pulled out a mask from the Marvel movie.
Talk to BT Sport (h / t Rich Jones of Daily Mirror) after the match, Aubameyang stated that the headgear represented himself and his native country.
"I needed a mask that would represent me," he said. "It's a black panther and in Africa in Gabon we call the national team the panther of Gabon, that represents me."
BT Sport released the full post-match interview of Aubameyang and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who had scored the other goal of Arsenal that night :

During the match, Aubameyang scored early for the Gunners, which gave them a perfect platform to kick start. His second goal was another poacher's arrival, and although he should have completed his hat trick late when he was presented with more chances, the attacker showed how dangerous he could be in front of goal .
As can be seen, this is not the first time that the old Borussia Dortmund The striker celebrated a goal in this particular style:
Mark Mann-Bryans of the Press Association said the player planned this celebration for the two games leading up to Thursday's game:

Given Aubameyang was at a low point after his sentence was saved in stoppage play away at Tottenham Hotspur– Hugo Lloris made the final point with a score of 1-1 – this is thanks to him that he was able to rebound so well.
In the 2-0 win against Manchester United on Sunday, he was strengthened when Arsenal saw himself inflicting another penalty and coldly deployed his effort, scoring 17 goals for the Premier League season. On Thursday, he gave his team a quick start when they needed to.
While the attacker has only released masks for sporadic celebrations during his career, Arsenal supporters hope that many more goals for their star striker will encourage even more creative routines in the future.
