Stéphane Robert, 661st world player and lucky loser, was released in the first round in Adelaide, by the Australian Alex Bolt, 157th world player and beneficiary of a wild card, in three rounds (6-4, 2-6, 6-0) and 1h31.

He will not have had time to really believe it. After the package of Pierre-Hugues Herbert, it is his compatriot Stéphane Robert who made his direct entry into the main draw of the ATP 250 tournament in Adelaide, Australia, on the outside, in his capacity as lucky loser. A short-lived experience, since the Habs fell in the first round, against the Australian Alex Bolt, 157th world player and beneficiary of a wild card, in three innings (6-4, 2-6, 6-0) and 1h31 of play. In the first inning, Robert was put in difficulty from his first game of service, then forced to save five break points.

Robert dropped the third set

From then on, the two men then made an equal play, but the 661st world player ended up cracking, to offer the first set to his opponent (6-4). The second set was more narrow and Bolt, who then won only one of his four faceoffs, let him go, mainly due to only one small break point converted out of the eight he obtained (6-2). It was therefore only a postponement. In the third inning, Stéphane Robert dropped the match and gave up all of his face-offs (6-0). For his first match in a main draw of an ATP tournament since October 2018, the 39-year-old Frenchman did not last long. The second round will be played without him.
