Medifit and Sports Up at Schwelm have a new boss

Schwelmer Bernd Kliebisch sold Sports Up and Medifit for the first of October this year. The new owner is Torsten Brinkmann from Münster.

The 200 or so employees of Sport Up, Medifit Schwelm and Medifit Hagen have been appointed to their new boss on 1 October this year. Schwelmer's entrepreneur, Bernd Kliebisch, has sold the group of companies he founded to Torsten Brinkmann after 35 years. Employees were informed of the change of ownership last week. However, the 64-year-old will remain available for his "baby" in an advisory capacity.

Successor wanted for three years

"For employees, nothing changes, their contracts are maintained with all rights and obligations," assures both the old and the new owner to our newspaper. Medifit Schwelm has 80 employees and the Sportstudio located on Nordstraße 21, 36 employees. Medifit Hagen, founded in 2013, employs 76 women and men.

Bernd Kliebisch ends his search for a successor of three years with the change of ownership. "It was important to me that the group of companies continue to be managed by its owner, which is why I also rejected offers from financial investors," said Kliebisch, born in Schwelm. He will nevertheless release his office despite the consultant contract. The entrepreneur is reorganizing the home office and freelancers and will create a reduced workforce. "At home in Beyenburg, I have only one employee and it's my wife, but that could be more problematic than before," jokes Bernd Kliebisch.

More than 150 health care providers

Anyone who knows Bernd Kliebisch suspects that he does not want to retire. Founded in 1997, the consulting firm Kliebisch currently serves more than 150 German healthcare providers who exploit Kliebisch's concepts as a licensee. More than 400 fitness clubs have been trained in the BGF / BGM concept for the companies that it has developed so far. "Here, I would like to invest more time in the future to pass on my experience to young entrepreneurs," Kliebisch said.

With Torsten Brinkmann, Bernd Kliebisch has found a successor who can draw on a long experience in the health sector. The new headquarters at Schwelm is still the management board of Inoges AG, headquartered in Krefeld, and divest itself of this function on December 31, 2019. Aged 50, he also owns the company "b. health GmbH "of Münster, which operates two care facilities with a total of 74 places and 75 employees in East Friesland.
